Today I sent out a job application. A part that sucks about law school is that every summer you actually have to get a job. Some people think that coming to law school will save them from the recession (legal market is way down) but law students are actually directly affected by it. Every summer you are encouraged to get a summer position to gain some legal experience. This is not mandatory, however, students who do not do it will have a harder time finding a job in the future. Back in the good old days (before the recession) this position would be paid, but now most of the positions are unpaid and even then a lot of students don't get one. I am currently in the process of applying to as many places as possible but the area I can work in is limited because I don't have a car (I am poor).
I'll probably be updating this blog every day with things that I have done for the day or thoughts that I have. If anyone has a specific question they would like to ask me about anything, feel free to ask.
Good luck with the summer intern applications man, try the perspective that you're lucky you're encouraged (if not mandated) to go out and get a position. A lot of degrees give no support or encouragement to find summer positions even though they're so beneficial.
